Brief Description
Director of Project Management
Location: Flexible (Hybrid or 100% Remote, Approved States)
Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000 annually (negotiable based on experience)
Spheros Environmental is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Project Management . The Director of Project Management will report to our Spheros CEO, can work in office, hybrid, or remotely, and will work with project managers, technical staff, functional leaders, and finance staff to unite project management and control processes for all Spheros Environmental projects. The Director will have the opportunity to positively transform the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. The Director will collaborate with Spheros executive leadership to build an end-to-end strategic project management framework, from intake through closeout. The Director will make a significant and tangible positive impact on our teams, and on our bottom line, by ensuring that project delivery processes are optimized and aligned with corporate strategy. As an effective leader within the company, the Director will coach project managers and support their continual development.
Key Responsibilities
Optimize PMO framework for operations, inclusive of project management role definition and training, project management processes and metrics, and systems requirements for project performance management.
Work collaboratively to continue to implement standard project performance measures and support project teams in understanding them. Ensure project planning and schedule standards are implemented, and all project activities comply.
Independently review, analyze, and report on project performance.
Proactively work with business leaders to define and develop new processes.
Develop, monitor, and improve technical competencies of project management staff.
Implement effective project quality assurance and quality control reviews.
Continually improve delivery excellence standards and best practices.
Participate in Program Area strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation; track project profitability; and establish internal and external project management-related training programs and training schedules.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of experience managing large programs, projects, or project controls in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professional services space.
Licensure/Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
Education: Minimum BS in business administration, finance, or environmental sciences-related field
Ability to independently create, review, analyze, and report on projects.
Demonstrated track record of designing and implementing efficient operational controls that improve project profitability in the AEC consulting space.
An understanding of earned value management, project scheduling, and project resource planning, including profitable work breakdown structures.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop consistent and best-in-class project management practices and influence continuous improvement.
