Director of Professional Services Engineering Location: Rochester, NY; Remote candidates able to travel to and work from Rochester for a minimum of one week every month will be considered Reports to: SVP/COO The objective of the role: As our Director of Professional Services Engineering, you'll shape and scale a dynamic team that delivers industry-leading cloud and AI solutions to our business clients. Responsibilities Lead and scale engineering teams in mid-size, high-growth technology environments Oversee staff with billable-hour expectations in professional services or managed cloud infrastructure Assess effort, complexity, and resource requirements for cloud migrations, modernization, ML/AI implementations, and other enterprise projects Make quick, clear decisions and own them Foster learning, adaptability, and innovative approaches Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers Operate transparently and set clear expectations to enable safe experimentation Navigate conflicts among different technology choices Drive entrepreneurial energy and transform engineering function into a scalable organization capable of handling multiple client projects with quality and efficiency Qualifications / Required Experience Minimum of 5 years leading a team of software developers, cloud engineers, architects, and IT professionals Experience delivering world-class service experiences Experience managing technical staff delivering proactive, service-driven work within service contracts Experience managing IT services including cloud migrations, cloud software development, and implementations as fixed-scope projects Proven leadership that motivates teams to achieve goals Ability to attract and retain high-quality engineers Ability to balance customer requirements, budgets, tooling, and cloud technologies to exceed expectations Job Details Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Contract Job function: Consulting, Information Technology, and Sales Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Innovative Solutions.
