Job Summary: The Director of Process Engineering will lead the development and implementation of the engineering strategy to align with the organization's vision, mission, and objectives. This role demands a visionary leader with exceptional leadership capabilities and extensive expertise in engineering practices and compliance. The Director of Process Engineering will drive continuous improvement and inspire a culture of excellence, integrity, and respect throughout the organization. They will create a streamlined, intuitive system that empowers entry-level production operators and quality inspectors to perform their roles with clarity, confidence, and consistency. This system will ensure tasks are clearly defined, easily understood, and executed with minimal variation, enabling personnel to achieve 100% success in their work every time, without uncertainty or need for extensive searching.
As Director of Process Engineering, you will own our end-to-end engineering function-shaping strategy, driving AS9100 (and FAA/EASA) compliance, and continuously improving systems and processes. You will directly manage the Team Leads who oversee our core engineering disciplines, and build intuitive workflows that empower production operators and inspectors to deliver 100% error-free work, every time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:  Leadership and Direction: o Provide leadership and direction to engineering group and Engineering Team Leads:  Process Engineering  Oversight of tooling, equipment, and best practices for completing critical process steps.  Configuration Management  Governance of assembly revision levels, bill of materials, customer process specifications, and engineering change management.  Quality Engineering  Oversight of First Article Inspections (FAIs), inspection protocols, and quality testing procedures to uphold engineering standards.  Test Engineering  Development and oversight of product testing methodologies, test equipment, verification and validation procedures, and customer acceptance criteria  Floor Support  Coordination of real-time engineering assistance for production teams to maintain flow and resolve technical issues.  Supply Chain Material Review  Evaluation and resolution of supply chain-related material issues, discrepancies, and process compliance.
 Performance Management: Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team members meet expectations.
 Talent Development: Staff and develop team members, fostering professional growth and skill development.
 Culture Building: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the business teams.
 Operational Oversight: o Project Management: Oversee planning, resourcing and execution of aerospace projects-from requirements capture through verification, validation and customer acceptance. Coordinate cross-functional teams (manufacturing, procurement, quality, test, and shipping) to meet cost, schedule and quality targets. o Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to support goals and timelines. o Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet business objectives.
