Project Performer, a leading performing arts studio in Encinitas, CA, is expanding our offerings to include an exciting new Preschool Performing Arts Program — a joyful blend of singing, dance, play, and early childhood development.
We’re seeking a Director of Preschool Performing Arts Program who will not only teach classes but also collaborate with our Artistic Director to build this program from the ground up. This is a hands-on, creative leadership role with the opportunity to shape the curriculum, establish classroom structure, and guide the future of this growing department.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Artistic Director to develop and implement a preschool performing arts curriculum that combines movement, music, imaginative play, and foundational child development principles.
Teach engaging weekday and/or weekend morning classes for children ages 3–5.
Foster a warm, nurturing, and creative classroom environment that encourages self-expression, social skills, and confidence.
Integrate early childhood learning milestones with performing arts activities.
Support parent communication, provide feedback, and help create a welcoming community for families.
Help recruit, train, and oversee future staff as the program grows.
Participate in occasional studio events and performances related to the preschool program.
Requirements
Currently studying or holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (required).
Experience working with preschool-aged children.
Background or interest in dance, music, or musical theatre (preferred).
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Creative, energetic, and passionate about child-centered learning through the arts.
Comfortable collaborating on curriculum and helping shape a new program.
