About Allegheny Health Network The Director of Philanthropic Development will play a key role in fostering a culture of generosity and driving fundraising efforts for Saint Vincent Hospital and Allegheny Health Network. This dynamic leader will develop and execute a comprehensive development strategy focused on enhancing patient care, research, education, and capital improvements within the health network. The Director will manage a diverse portfolio of existing and potential donors and lead a dedicated team of development professionals to achieve ambitious fundraising goals. Key Responsibilities: Fundraising: Engage with current and potential donors through personal visits aimed at cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships. Successfully solicit and secure significant annual, major, and planned gifts. Design and implement donor-centered events to attract and increase support for Saint Vincent Hospital. Prepare and manage gift and pledge agreements, serving as the primary contact for fundraising initiatives.
Prospect Management: Effectively manage and evaluate a portfolio of donors passionate about supporting health priorities. Identify and strategize solicitation opportunities for prospective donors. Participate in the timely execution of a moves-management process for assigned prospects.
Team Management: Oversee daily operations of the development department, including hiring, training, and performance management of staff. Develop policies and programs that align with the organization’s fundraising goals and objectives.
Relationship Building: Nurture and strengthen relationships with clinical champions, hospital leadership, and community stakeholders. Participate in network and community events to enhance engagement with donors and volunteers.
Additional Duties: Address urgent fundraising needs as they arise and provide support to the team on special projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree. Preferred Qualifications: 7-10 years of proven success in fundraising, particularly in securing major and planned gifts. Experience within healthcare, higher education, or nonprofit sectors. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of fundraising professionals.
