About the Role As the Director of Performance Management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all processes align with regulatory, contractual, and legal requirements, while proactively advancing organizational excellence through collaboration, data-driven analysis, and continuous improvement strategies. While reporting directly to the SVP, the Director is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, consistently exercising sound judgment, initiative and discretion in managing adverse events, and interpreting complex policies and procedures related to risk management and quality improvement.

You will: Strategic Leadership & Organizational Excellence

Partner with the SVP of Organizational Excellence to guide the development and execution of enterprise-wide performance, quality, and risk management strategies.

Provide high-level leadership and direction for initiatives that align with Meridian Healthcare's strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement priorities.

Serve as an advisor in strategic planning, contributing to the SVP development of long-term goals, performance benchmarks, and organizational priorities.

Act as Department Head in the absence of the SVP, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making.

Performance & Quality Improvement

Assists in leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of performance measurement systems, including dashboards, KPIs, and data visualization tools to monitor organizational effectiveness.

Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement - presenting actionable insights to leadership and operational teams.

Facilitate and support Quality Improvement Committees, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.

Oversee the client concern and accommodation request process, ensuring timely and compassionate resolution.

Oversee internal auditing functions and ensure timely resolution of identified issues through corrective action planning and follow-up.

Direct the agency's risk management framework, including adverse event reporting, root cause analysis, and mitigation strategies.

Interpret and apply complex regulatory, contractual, and legal requirements to ensure organizational compliance and risk reduction.

Leadership role in the coordination and readiness efforts for external audits, licensing inspections, and accreditation surveys (e.g., CARF), including documentation collection, staff preparation, and follow-up.

Health Information Management (HIM) Oversight

Provide strategic oversight of the HIM team, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, data privacy, and security regulations.

Oversee development and enforcement of HIM procedures and workflows to support accurate, timely, and secure information management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Capacity Building

Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical leaders to embed quality and compliance into daily operations and decision-making processes.

Provide expert consultation and guidance to staff and leadership on compliance, performance improvement, and risk mitigation strategies.

Promote a culture of excellence by fostering cross-departmental communication, innovation, and accountability.

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities

Manage the agency's licensing and permit application/renewal processes to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Supervise and mentor direct reports, including quality improvement specialists, internal auditors, risk management specialist, and the HIM Manager, fostering high performance and professional development.

Support or lead the development and revision of agency-wide procedures, forms, and documentation tools.

What We're Looking For Master's degree (MA/MS/MBA), preferably in a healthcare related field, and three (3) years of experience in business analysis, quality assurance or performance improvement OR Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, quality assurance or performance improvement. At least one (1) year of experience was in a supervisory role. Experience in Risk Management required.
