The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and a key member of the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing and aligning all operational and administrative functions to drive property performance, portfolio growth, and organizational efficiency.

You will lead cross-functional teams across property management, accounting, HR, legal, and maintenance, ensuring execution of day-to-day operations while building the structure, systems, and culture necessary for scale. This is a high-impact, hybrid role that blends strategic planning, operational rigor, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of CVL’s real estate portfolio, ensuring financial, operational, and compliance goals are met across all properties.
• Directly manage Operations and Development Coordinator, Regional Asset and Project Managers.
• Implement consistent, scalable processes across HR, finance, legal, property operations, and maintenance.
• Design and enforce performance metrics and accountability systems across teams.

Strategic Growth & Portfolio Oversight

• Partner with the CEO to develop and execute growth strategies, including entry into new markets and scaling of existing operations.
• Lead asset management efforts including budget creation, capital planning, and performance tracking.
• Oversee compliance and risk management efforts to protect and grow CVL’s portfolio.

Team Building & Talent Development

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team aligned with CVL’s mission and values.
• Establish a culture of excellence, transparency, and collaboration at all levels of the organization.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding, training, and development initiatives to support employee success and retention.

Systems & Efficiency

• Identify operational inefficiencies, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement across departments.
• Deploy tools, systems, and technologies to enhance property performance, reporting, and internal communications.
• Create and manage clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all key business functions.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in multifamily real estate operations, property management, or asset management.
• Proven success in overseeing property portfolios and leading cross-functional teams.
• Deep knowledge of real estate finance, compliance, leasing, maintenance, and resident services.
• Strong financial acumen — experience creating and managing budgets, forecasts, and performance KPIs.
• Experience scaling processes and teams in a high-growth environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, or related field
