Title: Director of Operations Training & Development
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
Direct Reports: Club/Site/Mobile Directors
Department: Operations
Status: Full Time w/ Benefits, Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Leads, manages, directs and monitors a cluster of clubs/extensions with regard to facility and member safety; membership; staff development; obtaining and utilizing volunteers; budgeting and financial reporting. Develops and utilizes community support, including program quality advisory councils, to improve and support clubs operations. Collaborates with executive staff to develop and monitor progress toward reaching organizational goals. This role works to increase overall organizational capacity, with a primary concern for targeted programs that result in outcome driven Club experiences, staff development, grant reporting, and above all, safety. This individual will also fully embody BGCKY's I-CARE Values and amplify it to their teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
Support the sites as they strive to improve student academics, attendance, behavior, promotion, and graduation rates.
Support all programs and their objectives, as well as activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
Ensure a healthy and safe environment by ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
Assist in monitoring, collecting and reporting student data and information from each Club site to meet grant reporting requirements.
Supervise and mentor site directors and Youth Development Professionals (YDPs)as assigned.
Serve as a member of the lead team for BGCKY Youth Impact Network Quality Improvement
Club Operations:
Ensure all Clubs are safe, well-maintained and are aligned with BGCKY standards.
Directly support Club Directors by providing adequate support, coaching, feedback, supervision, and guidance for their Clubs.
Have a physical presence daily at each Club to offer immediate guidance and hands-on coaching.
Coach Club Directors to be proactive problem solvers for their Clubs.
Work to increase overall organization capacity that aligns with the goals and vision of BGCKY.
Ensure accurate membership registration procedures and program attendance tracking throughout all Clubs.
Work collaboratively with internal department leaders to ensure Club teams meet BGCKYs high quality standards of programs.
Ensure all staff, volunteers, and other individuals follow BGCKY protocol and procedures.
Support Operations leadership with the training, development and evaluation of program staff.
Training and Staff Development
Lead the design and delivery of onboarding, in-service, and ongoing training programs for program staff and frontline leaders.
Serve as a certified Tier 1 BGCA Trainer, facilitating Youth Development-focused content and professional development workshops.
Build leadership capacity through individualized coaching, peer learning groups, and performance feedback systems.
Collaborate with HR and VP of Operations to align training with performance goals and evaluation tools.
Assist in the career pathing of Club staff by creating skill development roadmaps and tracking growth milestones.
Program Quality
Provide and assist in the training, development, implementation and analysis of outcomes-driven programs.
Lead train, and complete BGCAs Continuous Quality Improvement toolkit
Lead, train, and complete Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) assessments for program sites and staff.
Ensure that programs meet BGCA Youth Program Quality and compliance expectations.
Act as team lead for program quality issues, coaching and training and respond accordingly.
Write programmatic reports, provide program highlights, program scorecards and make recommendations for program quality improvement based on findings.
Work with Operations Team to facilitate the National Youth Outcomes Initiative (NYOI) assessment for youth and staff for BGCKY.
Help to establish a Program Quality Advisory Council with key stakeholders including youth, school liaison, and parent/guardians.
Strategic Planning & Program Management/Development
Assist in goal setting in conjunction with various evaluation tools including recruitment strategies and key indicators
Remain an active participant with Boys & Girls Clubs of America goals and strategies.
Work in conjunction with the Vice President of Operations to establish and manage yearly and quarterly goals and objectives for each Site.
Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation, as needed.
Resource Management
Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Sites, including use of facilities by outside groups, emergency/crisis procedures, and requests for repairs or purchases.
Assist in career development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
Ensures grant requirements are met, and related evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
Partnership Development
Develop partnerships with parents, school leaders, and community organizations
Serve as an advocate for Club members and youth in general by participating with schools and other youth service organizations.
Marketing and Public Relations
Increase the visibility of Club programs by sharing upcoming events and dissemination of timely information to schools and other organizations.
Participate in planning and execution of Club-site special events.
Assist with the development of Club newsletters and other marketing tools.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in youth or child-related field or five years of experience in program quality, youth development, nonprofit operations, or education, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary level of skill, knowledge, and ability. Preference given for experience in management and implementation of YPQI.
A minimum of three years of previous supervisory experience that focused on coaching and developing teams.
A minimum of one year working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organizations planning and supervising activities.
Demonstrate ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations; facilities management; and budget management.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff and stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership towards helping staff accomplish goals by providing feedback, maintaining accountability and coaching, as needed.
Ability to innovate and increase efficiency within Clubs.
Ability to recognize problems, resolve conflicts, research options, present alternatives, implement solutions, and follow through to ensure goals are met.
Solid written and oral communication, including excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience scheduling/maintaining multiple calendars in Microsoft Outlook and Google Drive.
Valid Drivers License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record as determined by BGCKY Insurance Provider
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/ASL) a plus.
