Part 135 operator based in South Florida (FLL Airport) is looking for a full-time Director of Operations.
REQUIREMENTS: At least 3 years of experience, within the past 6 years, as Pilot-in-Command under part 135 or part 121
Prior experience as Director of Operations or Chief Pilot not required, but preferred
Relevant college degree preferred
Good interpersonal skills, oral/written communication
Strong analytical skills along with ability to think outside the box
Must have the ability to work quickly, calmly, and under pressure, in a fast-paced team environment and adapt to changing business needs.
Energetic/Self starter
Ability to be consistent and persistent
Team player
Full-time position: 365/24/7 operation - must be willing to work nights and weekends and holidays, if required
Mandatory requirement: lives in South Florida or is willing to relocate
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Director of Operations reports directly to President/Vice President and holds functional position related to operational control over flight operations. The Director of Operations’ specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Serve as the primary liaison between Executive Aviation and the FAA, including the Principal Operations Inspector (POl), including the submittance for acceptance of and submit to the FAA any manuals, checklists or other materials requiring FAA acceptance.
Assist the President/VPs in designing and initiating company policies, procedures, instructions etc.
Execute company’s policies that relate to operational control.
Collaborate with Director of Maintenance, Director of Safety, and other departments to assure seamless and safe operations.
Ensure appropriate training and evaluation of operational control personnel, and their performance records.
Oversee regular operational audits and reviews to ensure regulatory compliance, including compliance with applicable safety requirements.
Distribute company manual revisions, bulletins and other materials among operational control personnel.
Supervise, acquisition, distribution and posting of all information or memoranda related to changes affecting company policies, route information, requisitioning of flying aids, aeronautical charts.
Reviews all operations records and reports.
