We are excited to announce a career opportunity for which we are seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates who wish to be considered for the Buildings and Infrastructure Americas (BIA) Northwest Director of Operations overseeing our $100M+ annual net revenue portfolio. This is a fast-paced position reporting directly to the Executive Director of Operations and will have direct reports inclusive of Department Leaders, Managers of Projects, and select others. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative approach to cultivating partnerships with a wide range of cross-functional teams and leaders from finance, sales and people partners including HR, Talent Acquisition, Health & Safety, and Jacobs Employee Network (JEN) leaders.
Business Metrics and Key Performance Indicators:
This position is responsible for delivering the fiscal year annual plan, inclusive of:
Bottom line growth (net revenue and operating margin) year over year consistent with CAGR and SAM
Delivering operating margin with proportional gross margin (GM) to general and administrative (G&A) per FY Plan GM:G&A ratio
Achieving net hiring goals, both US based and global (i.e. Global Aligned Team Members) needed to achieve both Billable Hours (BH) and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) Hours
Top line growth (jointly with sales team), inclusive of lowering booked to billed time
Continual delivery and improvement year over year of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
Responsibilities:
As Director of Operations, you will lead a high-performing team and drive operational excellence, financial performance, and strategic growth for the Water Performance Unit (PU). You'll be a key member of the Northwest Leadership Team, and you will be a champion for innovation, inclusion and growth.
Financial Leadership
Bringing executive level business/financial acumen to deliver business KPIs and identify margin expansion opportunities
Lead quarterly Water PU business forecasts against fiscal year plan
Team & Talent Development
Enterprise leadership, along with inspiring and mentoring future leaders through coaching and career development
Lead key recruiting and retention efforts, including creating a culture of caring that invests in our people and results in continued low attrition and highly engaged teams
Client & Market Engagement
Drive market expansion through strategic partnerships and client engagement, in partnership with sales, regional technologist and alternative delivery leads
Grow global delivery models, including driving and promoting use of global delivery centers (GDCs) to meet client commitments, bring innovation solutions from around the world and to maintain a growth mindset.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Promote BeyondZero, quality, and safety programs to create an incident- and injury-free culture
Serve in key roles for higher risk projects and top pursuits, inclusive of engaging with Jacobs contracting, risk and legal teams as appropriate.
Proven success in managing large, geographically dispersed teams
Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L ownership
Track record of operational transformation and driving growth
Inclusive leadership style with a passion for people development
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute top business needs, while flexing to changing needs (maintain agile pace of play)
Champion for both global delivery and digital delivery
Market knowledge of trends and drivers in the water market, inclusive of alternative (design build) delivery.
15+ years in operations leadership, preferably in infrastructure or water markets
Engineering or business degree, masters preferred
