Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement organizational goals, policies, and growth strategies.
- Translate company vision into actionable operational plans for each region.
- Participate in strategic planning, new business development, and portfolio expansion opportunities.
Operational Oversight
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Regional and Senior-level operations leaders.
- Conduct regular reviews of property financials, operational KPIs, and market conditions to ensure goals are met.
- Oversee property performance to maximize occupancy, NOI, and asset value.
- Implement operational best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the portfolio.
Financial Management
- Supervise the preparation, review, and management of annual operating budgets and capital improvement plans.
- Analyze monthly financial statements, identify variances, and drive corrective actions to optimize performance.
- Develop strategies to control expenses, increase revenue, and enhance profitability.
Owner & Client Relations
- Serve as the primary liaison between property management leadership and ownership groups (internal and external).
- Communicate regularly with owners regarding financial performance, operational initiatives, and strategic goals.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to ownership, including custom reports, forecasts, and project updates.
Talent Development & Leadership
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of operations leaders.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven culture that aligns with company values.
- Identify and develop high-potential team members for future leadership roles.
Property Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local/state/federal regulations, and industry standards.
- Oversee execution of capital projects, physical inspections, and due diligence processes.
- Lead initiatives to enhance curb appeal, maintenance standards, and resident experience.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage national vendor contracts and service agreements.
- Drive cost savings and service improvements through vendor consolidation and performance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or related field (Master's preferred) or minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in multifamily property management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple regions.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and delivering operational and financial success across diverse markets.
- Deep understanding of multifamily operations, budgeting, maintenance, marketing, and capital planning.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Highly proficient in property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to travel regularly as needed.
