Director of Operations at PrimeFlight
The Director of Operations is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the airport, ensuring efficient and effective management of all operational departments. This role involves strategic planning and coordination of airport operations, including airside and landside services, to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards. The director is responsible for managing staff, resources, and processes to optimize operational efficiency, improve passenger experience, and maintain service quality. Additionally, you will work with airline partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address operational challenges, implement improvements, and ensure seamless airport operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the airport, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maximize productivity and maintain high service standards
- Coordinate with various departments, including ground handling, customer service, and security, to ensure seamless operations
- Manage and lead a diverse team of operational staff, setting goals and conducting performance evaluations
- Oversee resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and facilities, to optimize operational efficiency
- Monitor operational performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations and safety standards
- Manage relationships with airline partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Lead emergency response and crisis management efforts during operational disruptions
- Develop and manage the operational budget, controlling expenses and optimizing cost-effectiveness
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in operations
- Facilitate training and development programs for operational staff
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with overall business objectives
- Address and resolve complex operational challenges and customer service issues
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork within the operations department
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- 10 years aviation or transportation operations experience
- Knowledge of the Aviation Industry
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
