We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our team and oversee operational functions of the hotel, with experience in the renovation process and ensuring minimal disruption to our guests.
Position Overview:
The Director of Operationswill be responsible for overseeing the front office, housekeeping, and maintenance departments, while maintaining operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in managing hotel renovations to help ensure the success of our ongoing property enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth functioning of departments such as front office, housekeeping and maintenance.
- Renovation Oversight: Assist the General Manager with the hotel's renovation efforts, collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Guest Experience: Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and service quality. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
- Team Management: Train and develop a high-performing team across all departments, maintaining a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all hotel operations comply with local health, safety, and legal requirements, including during renovation activities.
- Operational Improvements: Implement improvements to maximize guest satisfaction, operational performance, and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of hotel operations experience.
- Experience managing some aspects of property improvement projects (PIPs), particularly within the select-service segment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt and lead through periods of change, particularly during property upgrades.
- A passion for guest service and creating a welcoming environment for all guests.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Choice Hotels brand or other select-service properties.
- Familiarity with industry-standard hotel management software (e.g., ChoiceAdvantage, OnQ, PEP).
