Memorial Driftwood Nursing Center, a 151-bed licensed long-term care and skilled nursing facility in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall clinical operations of the nursing department, ensuring the highest level of quality care for our residents. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to excellence in resident care, regulatory compliance, and team development.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing staff and daily operations of the nursing department
Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines
Ensure delivery of compassionate, resident-centered care at all times
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to maintain a highly skilled and motivated team
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and families to coordinate resident care
Monitor clinical outcomes, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, surveys, and standards of practice
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state of Mississippi
Previous leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, best practices, and quality care standards
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment
