Director of Nursing - Professional Development & Recruitment Location: Yonkers, NY • Employment Type: Full-Time • Schedule: 9:00am–5:00pm (75 Hrs Biweekly) • Salary: $135,000-$140,000 per year
Job Summary We are seeking a Director of Nursing to lead Professional Development and Recruitment. This role oversees nursing education, competency management, onboarding, and recruitment/retention strategies across the organization. The Director will collaborate with leadership to advance the nursing strategic plan, support evidence-based practice, and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and evaluate nursing professional development programs and continuing education.
Oversee nursing recruitment, retention strategies, and workforce planning.
Serve as liaison for nursing schools, clinical placements, and professional networks.
Support quality improvement, research, and patient education initiatives.
Provide leadership in policy development, compliance, and professional practice models.
Qualifications
RN, licensed in NY; BSN required, MSN in Nursing Education required, Doctorate preferred.
5+ years acute care nursing experience with progressive leadership/teaching roles.
Certification in Nursing Professional Development or related specialty preferred.
Strong background in program development, recruitment, evidence-based practice, and change management.
