Description Director of Nursing - San Francisco, CA

Shifts: Varied Schedule (On-call) Job Description: This position is responsible for the direction of resident care in the skilled nursing setting. Manages nursing team members. Consults with staff and management team on nursing problems and interpretation of organizational policies to ensure resident needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Assists in formulating a budget. Roles and Responsibilities: • Engages and supports Assisted Living and Memory Care programs and other departments within the CCRC structure. • Establishes and maintains job specifications and descriptions for Nursing Services personnel in conjunction with the organization. • Plans, develops, implements and controls the annual budget for the nursing personnel. • Represents Nursing Services on various committees, i.e., Infection Control, Pharmacy, Safety, Theft and Loss, Patient Care Policy Committee. • Participates in the performance improvement functions by collecting and verifying data, as needed. Qualification/ Requirements: • Bachelors of Science (BSN) in Nursing is required. • Minimum 3 years of experience in all aspects of Geriatric Care Nursing. • Prior experience as "Director of Nursing" is required. License/Certifications: • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California. • Current certification in gerontological nursing is preferred. • Current BCLS certification.
