Director of Nursing - Nursing Professional Development
In this role, the Director of Nursing - Nursing Professional Development (NPD) will oversee the daily operations of nursing education services for our advanced, 535 bed Level 1 Trauma Center located in the heart of Flushing, Queens. This position has direct oversight of Nursing Professional Development, Magnet, and Nurse Residency programs and works to improve nursing practice and quality measures for the department of nursing, while at the same time, meeting the requirements of regulatory agencies and professional practice standards.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of new programs, and maintenance of processes that support evidence-based nursing education and practice. The Director coordinates the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of orientation programs, mandatory education, in-service education, and staff development in accordance with the established policies, standards of practice, and procedures. You will act as a change agent, and partner with our leaders who encourage and support continuous growth in a collaborative environment. This is a full time Monday through Friday, Day Shift position at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Queens, located at 56-45 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11355.
Preferred :
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) preferred
Certification in Nursing Professional Development
Required :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required if already holds BSN degree
Currently licensed as a professional nurse in New York State
Minimum of 5 years clinical and/or leadership experience in nursing
Has demonstrated competence in managerial, leadership skills, project development, implementation, and evaluation processes
Knowledge of established best practices and standards of nursing care
Excellent verbal and written communication/critical thinking skills

$190,000-$280,000/Annual
