Job Description
A thriving healthcare network in beautiful Kentucky seeks an experienced Nurse Director of Emergency Department to be an integral member of the leadership team. This active department is a Level III Trauma Center and features 28 beds. With an average daily census of 85+, this Emergency Department sees over 35,000 patient visits annually. The Nurse Director of Emergency Department will manage a strong team of up to 65 FTEs.
Job Responsibilities
The Nurse Director of Emergency Department is responsible for leading patient care, staff engagement, and clinical outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Emergency Room and Trauma Services
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Lead initiatives to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and patient satisfaction
Oversee staffing, budgeting, and performance management
Mentor and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff
Candidate Qualifications
The ideal Nurse Director of Emergency Department has:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
At least 2 years of Emergency Room management experience
Demonstrated expertise in leading evidence-based practices and process improvement initiatives
