We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) with a deep commitment to healthcare and a focus on providing exceptional care to our residents and support to our staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) settings as a DON, possessing strong leadership, operational, and budgetary skills. They must also demonstrate proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC) and have experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. As the DON, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care while maintaining cost-effective operations.
Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities:
·        Provide leadership and oversight to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
·        Foster a culture of compassion, respect, and teamwork among staff, promoting a positive work environment.
·        Utilize PCC system effectively to manage resident care documentation and optimize workflow efficiency.
·        Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement resident care plans that meet individual needs and preferences.
·        Monitor and evaluate nursing practices, implementing improvements as needed to enhance quality of care and resident satisfaction.
·        Manage departmental budgets, effectively controlling costs while maintaining high standards of care.
·        Ensure adherence to TJC standards and participate in accreditation surveys as required.
·        Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
Director of Nursing (DON) Qualifications:
·        Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare management preferred.
·        Current licensure as a registered nurse.
·        5+ years of experience in nursing leadership, with a focus on LTC settings.
·        Proven track record of superb leadership and operational skills.
·        Experience with PCC system and TJC standards.
·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
·        Passion for healthcare and dedication to providing exceptional care to residents and support to staff.
