Job Description
The Director of Mortgage Sales and Operations leads the strategic direction, growth, and performance of the bank’s mortgage division. This role oversees both production and operational teams to ensure a seamless, compliant, and customer-focused lending experience. The position balances business development, recruiting, team leadership, and operational excellence to drive sustainable growth and profitability for the bank’s mortgage portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop sales team for increased loan volume.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for mortgage sales, processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing functions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share, increase loan volume, and strengthen customer and referral relationships.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements.
  • Collaborate with executive management to establish and achieve production, profitability, and quality goals for the mortgage division.
  • Analyze market trends, pipeline performance, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Partner with internal departments, including compliance, finance, and technology, to streamline processes and enhance the borrower experience.
  • Represent the bank in community and industry events to promote brand visibility and build referral partnerships.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in mortgage lending, with leadership responsibility in both sales and operations.
  • Proven track record of originating high-volume mortgage portfolios ($20MM+ annual originations).
  • Deep understanding of mortgage regulations, secondary market requirements, and end-to-end lending processes.
  • Proven track record of driving production growth, operational efficiency, and team performance.
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
