Pay Rate: $70,000 - $80,000
Job Summary: Director of Maintenance The Director of Maintenance administers and directs programs to maintain department functions, buildings, grounds, purchasing, and equipment to procure or generate all utilities and their distribution systems. Coordinates these activities with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations. Attends staff meetings to ascertain facility policies, assists in their development, and interprets these policies to staff.
Major Duties and Critical Tasks: Plans and recommends development of physical facilities.
Reviews and recommends approval of plans for process improvements.
Advises on structural changes and modifications to policies, procedures, and processes.
Directs overall facility maintenance and appearance; responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and functionality of the facility.
Identifies employee resources and expertise and utilizes employee skills to plan, schedule, assign, and perform maintenance, custodial, and other activities.
Conducts ongoing training and inspections.
Works with leadership to coordinate support at events, activities, department changes, and other applicable events affecting staffing.
Ensures that service and purchasing requests are completed appropriately and timely, closing or referring according to procedure.
Establishes and administers a preventive maintenance program.
Analyzes costs and work schedules; sets priorities; expedites operations.
Periodically inspects buildings and utility systems to determine needs for alterations and repairs.
Required Education and Experience: Verbal ability to communicate with staff, contractors, and others to gather and analyze data for reports and stay informed of new developments.
Numerical ability to prepare departmental budgets and estimates.
Ability to analyze, organize, and delegate.
High school diploma or GED required. Two years in a supervisory capacity in maintenance/custodial or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
