Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee comprehensive security and safety strategies that align with our resort's hospitality standards. Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor the Security team, fostering a culture of professionalism, courtesy, and guest-focused service. Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular property patrols to ensure safety and security, addressing any potential hazards promptly. Training Programs: Implement and oversee Security Awareness and Safety training programs, ensuring all staff are equipped to maintain a secure environment. Compliance and Safety: Promote safe work practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and implementing preventive measures. Incident Management: Oversee thorough investigations of incidents, ensuring accurate and complete reporting, and coordinate with law enforcement as necessary. Facility Security: Manage the physical security of the resort's facilities, property, employees, and guests, ensuring a secure and hospitable environment. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Maintain effective communication and relationships across all departments to support a cohesive approach to safety and guest satisfaction. Event Support: Coordinate security support for conferences, banquets, and other events, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all attendees. Policy Evaluation: Regularly assess and update security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Administrative Oversight: Manage departmental schedules, payroll, and performance evaluations, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum of 5 years' experience in high-end golf/country club or hospitality industry is a plus Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and guests. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks under various weather conditions. Sound judgment in making decisions that impact guest experiences. Proficiency in writing reports and correspondence. Supervisory experience in a security or hospitality setting. Knowledge of security and fire inspection procedures. Experience managing budgets and departmental finances. Excellent time management and interpersonal skills. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and Motor Vehicle Record check. Current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Previous experience in law enforcement or military security is advantageous but not required. EDUCATION: High School diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience. 4-year college degree or equivalent preferred. APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS: This is a fulltime, exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. The schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays and is flexible to meet the needs of the business. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION: Soliciting gratuities from members or guests is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Gratuities include items such as cash, favors, gifts, tickets to events and other forms of non-financial compensation. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and meet the driver safety policy requirements. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Our property sits on 767 acres and features many indoor and outdoor facilities that make up the work environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and move around for the entirety or majority of their shift. The employee may be working outside or inside and in different types of weather including excessive heat, cold temperatures, rain and sunshine. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is also regularly required to push, pull, bend, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
