Overview Director of Individual Giving (0462U), BAMPFA – #81565. This role leads BAMPFA’s individual donor program, including annual giving, membership, planned giving, and special events. The Director will set strategy, lead fundraising plans, and collaborate on the organization’s annual gala and donor engagement events.

Responsibilities Major Gift Fundraising: actively manage a donor/prospect portfolio (primarily $10,000+), aiming to raise at least $1.5 million per year through portfolio management and fundraising events. Manage stewardship events and donor benefits. Personally cultivate and steward donors and prospects via events, meetings, calls, and written communications, coordinating with the Executive Director, Chief Development Officer, and curatorial team as appropriate. Qualify major gift prospects and solicit gifts directly. Prepare the Executive Director, Chief Development Officer, and other presenters for donor meetings and events. Write persuasive solicitation letters, proposals, and presentations to individuals. Maintain and build effective donor communications and partnerships. Annual Fund & Membership: develop and lead a cohesive giving pipeline (membership, annual fund, and major gifts) to maximize long-term programmatic and unrestricted funding. Personally manage a donor portfolio with high-touch engagement and successful solicitations. Oversee the organization’s fundraising communications calendar. Analyze fundraising potential, set measurable objectives, and achieve goals for monthly and annual giving. Oversee the Membership Manager and Membership Coordinator to develop all aspects of the annual fund program ($1-$4,999 donors) including solicitations, direct mail, and online communications. Collaborate with assigned membership groups (e.g., Film Council, Matrix Council, Collections Council). Oversee planned giving and stewardship for current donors (Hoffman Society and planned gifts). Lead cross-department project management for bulk mailings and phone campaigns. Development Event Production: lead strategic planning and development of donor cultivation events and programs; act as primary liaison for Art + Film Benefit with support from leadership and Special Events Manager; manage donor engagement budgets and reporting; oversee print and online collateral and communications for events; coordinate production plans across the organization. Leadership & Support: foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment; empower staff with clear goals and accountability; lead and mentor three team members (Individual Giving Officer, Membership Manager, Membership Coordinator). Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 6-7 years of progressive fundraising experience. Supervisory experience. Technologically savvy with strong knowledge of Tessitura and/or fundraising CRM software. Ability to analyze complex organizations and work well with peers as part of a team. Experience working with high-level donors and sponsors; credibility and sound judgment to inspire trust. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. Preferred Qualifications Experience securing 6–7 figure gifts; arts and/or higher education background. Master’s degree in arts administration, non-profit management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Salary & Benefits The budgeted annual salary range is $125,000.00 – $150,000.00.
