Role Overview We’re seeking a part-time Director of People and Culture to establish and lead our people operations. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who wants to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexibility in schedule and workload. You’ll build the foundations of HR at Coalmarch, partnering with company leadership to create a healthy and high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities Develop and oversee HR policies, employee handbook, and compliance with state/federal laws Manage recruiting processes: job postings, interviews, onboarding, and offboarding Guide managers and leaders on employee relations, performance management, and coaching Support compensation, benefits, and payroll processes in partnership with Rippling (ASO) Lead employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives Implement training and development programs aligned with company values and growth needs Ensure HR data accuracy, reporting, and documentation compliance
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification a plus) 7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally including leadership in a high-growth or services business Familiarity with EOS or similar business operating systems preferred Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; trusted advisor to leadership and employees alike Located in the Raleigh area with the ability to work on-site as needed Looking for a role that balances professional challenge with personal flexibility

This is a salaried part-time role and the pay range is: 50,000.00-60,000.00 USD per year (Raleigh, NC)
