Overview Director of Housekeeping - Embassy Suites Brookfield, WI. Embassy Suites by Hilton Milwaukee Brookfield is seeking a qualified Director of Housekeeping. Base pay $58,000.00/yr - $62,000.00/yr Responsibilities Supervises room cleaners in the prompt and efficient housekeeping of customer rooms Ensures that all rooms have been cleaned by checking room cleaners worksheets at the end of the day and notifies front desk accordingly Supervises the completion of short notice requests for room changes Inspects all check out/stay over rooms after they are made up to ensure they are cleaned to Company standards Keeps record of room checkouts/stay overs and submits records to housekeeping daily Monitors quality of rooms by conducting and documenting inspections of cleaned rooms Prepares maintenance work orders for replacement or repair of furniture, fixtures, etc., and ensures completion by following through on orders Checks the status of rooms on an ongoing basis and notifies room cleaners of any changes Checks VIP rooms and early morning make-up rooms Coordinates cleaning of guestrooms for proper prioritization of customer requests (VIP rooms, checkout rooms, expected check-out rooms, etc.) Checks floor linen closets daily for cleanliness, adequate supplies and linen Assures carts are properly stored and vacuum cleaners are emptied at day end Assists in quarterly inventory of all linen Ensures safety by keeping linen chutes locked at all times Coordinates housekeeping work with related departments (front desk, engineering, banquet services and room services) Ensures guests are treated efficiently and courteously and that Company standards are applied Assists with training and direction of new department associates Ensures housekeeping quality standards, policies, and procedures are consistently applied Coordinates activities with other hotel departments to facilitate guest satisfaction Supports daily maintenance of room inventory status to achieve optimal revenues while maintaining guest expectations Qualifications and requirements High School diploma / secondary qualification or equivalent Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards Job requirements Most tasks are indoors in a temperature-controlled environment Walking and standing for the majority of the day Ability to give directions and move between departments as needed Lift up to 15 lbs regularly; push/pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs on occasion Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for using equipment and inspecting rooms Continuous talking and listening for guest and staff interactions Other Being passionate about people and service Strong communication skills with guests and employees Reading and writing abilities for paperwork, logging issues, and information updates Basic math skills for handling cash or credits Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays Amazing benefits at a glance Annual pay: $58K to $62K Quarterly bonus structure for hitting goals/metrics Cell phone reimbursement Medical/Dental/Vision Vacation & holiday pay Same-day pay available Employee Assistance Program Career growth opportunities / Manager Training Program Reduced room rates throughout the portfolio 401(k) Employee discount Flexible spending account Life insurance Parental leave Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Management Industries Hospitality
