The Director of Hardware Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing processes and equipment for manufacturing to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals for the customer’s products. Tasks include, but are not limited to: Experience with liquid cooling. Identify and manage all new customer-specific process and equipment development projects. Develop the scope of all technical work, coordinate the team, evaluate and support prioritization of work assignments, and assist with problem resolution throughout the full customer product lifecycle. Support all manufacturing technical issues related to the customer’s product(s) from conception to obsolescence. Evaluate, optimize, and negotiate tradeoffs for DFX issues with suppliers, customers, supply chain, and equipment leaders to deliver a cost-optimized manufacturing solution. Assess potential manufacturing impacts affecting safety, cost, quality, or delivery for each design concept. Evaluate suppliers' capabilities and capacity to meet production schedules and cost targets. May serve as the Subject Matter Expert in specific sub-sectors of manufacturing. Develop best practice standards, participate in industry organizations, and provide training and support globally. Qualifications: Must have an engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME), and a master's degree.
