About this Role
The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for leading all aspects of the property’s food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, banquets, and culinary programs. This role ensures operational excellence, outstanding service delivery, and strong financial performance while fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
The Director of Food & Beverage is expected to lead with both heart and strategy, fostering a team culture that values professionalism, creativity, and a shared sense of purpose. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience, strong business acumen, and a passion for mentoring and developing teams. Experience launching or opening new concepts is strongly preferred, as the role may contribute to innovation and brand evolution through the introduction of new outlets or initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring operational oversight, strategic planning, and active floor presence to support service and engagement across the department.
The person having this position must also possess good communication skills, have the ability to resolve conflict, and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.
Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
Responsibilities 1.     Direct the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring consistency in quality, service, and guest satisfaction 2.     Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of managers and staff, fostering a culture of engagement, excellence, and accountability 3.     Lead the development and implementation of departmental goals, budgets, cost control programs, and operational strategies 4.     Oversee P&L performance, labor management, and expense forecasting across all F&B departments 5.     Collaborate with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and marketing team to shape and execute thoughtful, brand-aligned experiences 6.     Support the development and execution of new concepts or outlet launches as part of the hotel’s ongoing growth and innovation 7.     Create meaningful, authentic relationships between team members and their guests by making people feel truly seen, heard, and valued. 8.     Build strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors. 9.     Coordinate outside vendor activity as necessary and work with our Group Purchasing Manager to help establish and grow brand standards. 10.  Work Closely with People Director to manage and maintain awareness of documentation needed for employee files. 11.  Be familiar and in compliance with all safety and emergency procedures such as OSHA requirements and on-site Fire, Life, and Safety Programs. 12.  Ensure compliance in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation. 13.  Must be courteous and gracious, always maintaining a professional demeanor. 14.  Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel. 15.  Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions.
Core Competencies
High School graduate or equivalent required
At least five (5) years in food & beverage management, with a proven track record of progressive career advancement that includes sustained roles as a General Manager or higher.
Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular) and POS systems
Knowledge of food & beverage operations including foods, beverages, supervisory skills, service techniques
Strong ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations
Knowledge in math and algebraic equations using percentages
Have a working basic knowledge of employment-related federal and state laws
Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Positive leader who sets a good example
Ability to train and supervise managers
Have patience and integrity
Ability to make evaluative judgments and give constructive criticism
Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs and daily activities, and effectively manage resources and time.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
