The Director of Membership Operations is responsible for developing and maintaining all membership areas of Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill including Fitness, Sports Performance, Personal Training, and Group Exercise. Meeting budgeted revenue and expense targets in these areas and developing all team members in these membership areas is a critical component to the success of this position. Reviewing and updating the design and equipment choices of these areas, as necessary, and building vendor relationships to maintain spaces and equipment is also essential.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop membership marketing strategies to attract and retain members
  • Meet and exceed budgeted membership goals in both revenue and expense
  • Build vendor relationships to ensure start-up and ongoing maintenance and equipment needs are met
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide membership related services to their guests and customers
  • Analyze trends in membership areas to consistently improve the offerings of the membership areas
  • Train all team members in the use of membership related software including Active Network
  • Develop and lead full-time team members in areas of specialty within the membership departments
  • Generate leads of corporate and personal accounts for membership services
  • Develop membership programming in collaboration with managers in areas of specialty
  • Serve as point of contact for all membership related questions or concerns that arise
  • Train all team members to conduct new member orientations, guest service, and sales related content
  • Ensure all Nook policies and procedures are being upheld in the membership areas
  • Manage member relationship strategies to ensure community engagement is emphasized and a Nook membership presence is visible in community events
  • Conduct member surveys to ensure satisfaction standards are being met in the membership areas
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's' degree or equivalent preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have at least five years of related membership and supervisory experience
  • Membership industry experience including working knowledge and group exercise center equipment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Dependable transportation to and from work
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, or Exercise Science
  • Experience managing vendor relationships related to the membership industry
  • Previous sales experience
  • Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Guest-focused/service-oriented; ability to see big picture and impact on Company. Supports Company mission as serves as an advocate for its products and services
  • Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees. Exhibits a respectful, professional demeanor

Working Conditions

  • Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Lifting requirements: The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically variable.
