Description: Rueb Stoller Daniel, LLP, a national plaintiffs’ law firm with a strong presence in mass torts, class actions, and other complex litigation is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to lead its financial department. This is a hands-on leadership role in a large, high-volume legal environment. You will oversee the finance team, while playing a critical role in driving financial health and supporting long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight: Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations. Transaction Workflow Management: Manage and reconcile complex transaction workflows involving bank systems, internal databases, and the general ledger. Trust account or IOLTA account experience strongly preferred. Fee Structure Administration: Administer and track complex fee structures, ensuring accurate allocation and disbursement of funds. Management & Lender Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely financial reports to leadership and lending institutions. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. QuickBooks Mastery: Utilize and manage QuickBooks for all financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting. Process Management: Identify and implement best practices to streamline and optimize financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance financial controls. Collaboration: Work closely with partners and legal teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role. Demonstrable experience managing complex trust or IOLTA accounts, preferably in a legal or high-volume financial environment. QuickBooks expertise is required. Exceptional Excel skills — advanced proficiency is essential (pivot tables, advanced formulas, modeling, and automation). Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
