We seek an event maestro who goes beyond logistics. Your mission is to forge a trailblazing events strategy that enhances our brand, fosters community, and boosts enrollment for one of the fastest-growing school networks in America. No pre-set plans here; you'll craft, test in Austin, and expand to 25+ markets.

This position collaborates closely with marketing, admissions, and operations, reporting to senior leadership. If you are strategic, agile, and operationally astute, this role is your calling.

What You Will Be Doing

Creating and refining an event strategy that aligns with enrollment and branding objectives Developing reusable playbooks for signature events like TEDx-style presentations, info sessions, and Shadow Days Handling vendor selection, contracts, payments, and performance across all locations Overseeing 5–10 simultaneous events, ensuring on-site problem-solving and cross-team coordination Training and supporting staff and contractors to achieve consistent, scalable execution

Director Of Event Management Key Responsibilities

Establish a scalable, efficient event function that enhances brand perception and drives enrollment across Alpha's campuses.

Basic Requirements

5+ years of comprehensive event management with budgets from $5K to $50K 10+ professionally executed events with tangible outcomes Experience in creating systems or documentation from the ground up Exceptional vendor negotiation and stakeholder communication skills Located in Austin or willing to relocate; 75%+ on-site presence required Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

Experience in education, nonprofit, or startup event management Knowledge of the Austin event and vendor scene Proficiency in budget management, including cost control and procurement Experience in scaling event operations across various locations

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
