Director of Enterprise Payments Program Management Office - Hybrid The Enterprise Payments Chief of Staff and Project Management team is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director level leader to establish and lead our new centralized Program Management Office (PMO). The Enterprise Payments organization sits within the Retail bank and is at the heart of our company’s financial infrastructure, supporting the most critical domains of payment processing. We are driven by our commitment to ensure flawless execution, regulatory compliance, and deliver innovative products that shape the future of payments. In addition to our core payments processing, we provide oversight for end-to-end payment strategy, operations, and risk management for all payment types across the enterprise. The Role As the Director of the Enterprise Payments Program Management Office, you will be responsible for standing up the new PMO, leveraging elements of our current project management practices, while building new frameworks, processes, and governance to support enterprise-wide priorities. You will work closely with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure strategic initiatives are executed effectively, aligned to business goals, and delivering measurable outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader and experienced program manager to transform our high performing Project Management team into a strategic Program Management Office and drive the top strategic initiatives across the Enterprise Payments organization. Responsibilities Define the vision, structure, processes, and tools for a best-in-class Program Management Office
Ensure programs and projects are prioritized, sequenced, and managed to deliver against business objectives
Build upon current project management capabilities while introducing new standards, templates, and tools to drive consistency and efficiency
Establish governance frameworks, performance dashboards, and executive reporting to enable transparency and accountability
Lead a team of program/project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement and creating an inclusive and inspiring work environment
Partner with executives and stakeholders to align on priorities, manage expectations, and communicate progress
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and interconnections across initiatives and drive solutions to keep programs on track
Define success metrics and ensure delivery of measurable business outcomes, not just project outputs

Location: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in office and the remainder of the week working virtually Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 4 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry
At least 5 years of experience leading in process, project or program management
At least 5 years of people management experience
At least 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications At least 10 years of project management or program management experience
At least 6 years in the Banking Industry
At least 3 years of experience in payments
At least 2 years of experience establishing and managing a project management office in a matrixed environment
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Project ManagementRichmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Project ManagementWilmington, DE: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Project Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
