The Opportunity:

Our CACI facility in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to manage a technical staff of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams. The Director of Engineering will oversee teams of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering, managing Research & Development, Customer Funded, and Sustainment projects, with focus on technical and schedule performance across our portfolio of commercial products. This position reports to the site General Manager and supports a growing product focused organization, specializing in engineering design and onsite manufacturing of tactical radio systems. Ideal candidates will have 15+ years of experience overseeing teams of 75+ total engineers Position is 100% on site in Rochester, NY Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Responsibilities: Accountable for Engineering Department staff, overseeing development projects, managing product obsolescence and sustainment, and delivering metrics for cost, time, requirements, and quality Provide leadership to a team of Engineering managers to ensure teams meet both requirements and strategic objectives of the business Work closely with the Product and Program Management teams to develop execution and resource plans tied to internal and external investment Oversee, evaluate, and implement effective reporting and metrics to ensure projects are efficient and successful Ensuring successful coordination with the stakeholders across the business, keeping them informed of relevant information especially risks and issues and the associated resolution plans and status Provide effective communications to senior leadership on status, reports, and recommendations Drive collaboration and communication over cross-functional teams Coordinate resolution of development and production-related conflicts using risk management strategies Support preparation of technical white papers, proposals, and request for information responses Oversee all major Engineering reviews, department budgets, and administrative tasks Qualifications: BS degree in an Engineering discipline Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing Engineering development projects across hardware and software engineering Broad knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering principals, RF signals, system engineering design, and wireless communication technologies Strong understanding of circuit board design, fabrication, and assembly Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated experience creating and presenting briefings to communicate across teams and to senior leadership Prior experience managing and developing a team of Engineering Managers Expert proficiency at execution planning against development requirements, including technical, resources, and schedule preparation Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Must be willing and able to get a TS/SCI clearance Desired: Tactical radios, RF related products, and EW (Electronic Warfare) Systems Experience working directly with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver complex product solutions Understanding of product lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, and obsolescence Experience with Configuration Management best practices and processes including product development stages, release to manufacturing, and engineering change orders Prior experience and knowledge of US DoD and international government contracting Active TS/SCI security clearance CACI values the unique contributions that every employee brings to our company and our customers.
