We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Director of Engineering to join our team. The right candidate will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of engineering functions within our company. This role will play a pivotal part in the manufacturing process, from the initial concept and design phase, through to prototyping and production. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of how to implement strategies and ensure that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the organization's established policies and objectives. You will be working closely with various teams to ensure the successful execution of the company's business plan. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader, able to inspire, motivate and develop a team of diverse engineers.
Responsibilities:
1. Direct and oversee the engineering function and monitor the team's performance. 2. Lead the design, development, and deployment of products and services ensuring they meet customer needs and business goals. 3. Develop and manage the engineering budget and oversee the development and management of department KPI's. 4. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including ITAR, ISO, DoD, and Military Protocols. 5. Collaborate with other departments to define project objectives, set key performance metrics, and establish project approaches. 6. Implement detailed plans and recommend policies/procedures towards achieving the project objectives. 7. Foster innovation in the team to bring creative ideas to market. 8. Communicate with stakeholders to ensure our company’s technologies are used appropriately and optimally.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required, Master’s degree preferred. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior engineering management role within the manufacturing industry. 3. Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards (ITAR, ISO, DoD, and Military Protocols). 4. Proven experience with budget development and oversight. 5. Extensive knowledge of engineering design and prototyping. 6. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a diverse engineering team. 7. Excellent project management skills with a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within budget. 8. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 10. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
