Overview

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead a high-performing team of Manufacturing Engineers specializing in CAD/CAM programming and process optimization within an AS9100-certified, tight-tolerance machining environment. This leader will oversee all aspects of engineering strategy, from NPI (New Product Introduction) through process validation, ensuring the organization continues to deliver exceptional quality and efficiency across complex, precision-machined components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Oversight

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented Manufacturing Engineers focused on CNC programming, tooling design, process improvement, and advanced manufacturing techniques.

    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.

    • Act as the key liaison between engineering, operations, quality, and production to ensure seamless execution of customer and internal projects.

  • Process Optimization & Technical Strategy

    • Drive process standardization and optimization across all machining operations to improve cycle times, yields, and overall manufacturability.

    • Oversee all CAD/CAM programming methodologies, ensuring programs are optimized for precision, efficiency, and repeatability.

    • Lead DFM (Design for Manufacturability) efforts in collaboration with customers and internal design teams.

    • Champion data-driven problem solving using root cause analysis and statistical methods.

  • Compliance & Quality

    • Ensure all engineering activities align with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.

    • Support audits, corrective actions, and documentation efforts to maintain certification and regulatory compliance.

    • Collaborate closely with the Quality team to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Technology & Innovation

    • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and advanced machining strategies.

    • Lead capital equipment justification and implementation for engineering and production improvements.

    • Stay current on advancements in CAD/CAM software, tooling technologies, and machining best practices.
