Base pay range $101,714.00/yr - $139,855.00/yr Director of Data & Analytics About PLN Founded on Skid Row in 1980, Para Los Niños provides education and wraparound support, serving over 10,000 children, youth, and families annually in some of the most underserved areas in Los Angeles. PLN fosters pathways to success by striving for excellence in education, family support, and comprehensive social-emotional, and community-based services. Through early education, TK-8th grade education, youth workforce services, and family and community services Para Los-Niño’s’ model provides a comprehensive, holistic approach to break the cycle of poverty and help children and youth thrive. Position Overview Para Los Niños (PLN) is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to lead the organization's data strategy and serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, external research partners, and Senior Leadership. This role will be responsible for ensuring that PLN leverages data effectively to drive decision-making, measure organizational impact, and support fundraising efforts through the use of data. The Director will oversee PLN’s data infrastructure and centralized reporting system while leading a high-performing data team to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with the organization’s mission. This position requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between technical capabilities and organizational goals, ensuring PLN has the right data insights to inform executive decision-making. Duties Develop and lead PLN’s organization-wide data strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term priorities while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and funders. Translate complex data insights into high-level strategic recommendations, overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of program and organizational data to provide accurate, timely, and meaningful insights for stakeholders. Lead and manage the data team, driving impact measurement, grant reporting, and operational analytics while establishing a centralized reporting framework that streamlines data access for leadership, program teams, and funders. Enhance PLN’s ability to measure program effectiveness by identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and integrating them into decision-making processes. Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring data is leveraged across all departments to improve service delivery, funding opportunities, and strategic planning. Engage with external research institutions, funders, and government agencies to maximize PLN’s data for advocacy, funding applications, and strategic partnerships. Oversee data governance and quality assurance, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with funder and regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making by providing training and leadership, empowering teams to effectively use data in their work. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and leading data strategy in a mission-driven or nonprofit setting. Minimum of 5 years experience in managing data systems and pipelines (e.g., data warehouses, business intelligence tools). Minimum of 5 years experience in writing complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting. Minimum of 5 years experience in using programming languages such as Python or R in analytics projects. Demonstrated knowledge in data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Minimum of 3 years of experience in demonstrating strong leadership and management skills with a track record of directly managing technical teams and collaborating with executive leadership. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including funders and board members. Familiarity with nonprofit grant reporting, compliance requirements, and program evaluation metrics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Travel Requirements: Up to 25% (within Los Angeles County and more likely between PLN sites).
