Director of Continuous Improvement

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Continuous Improvement will lead the development and execution of the company-wide CI strategy focused on LEAN principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for driving process improvements across all departments, with an immediate focus on optimizing workflows and change management related to the Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and launch a formal Continuous Improvement department, including structure, staffing, and governance.
• Define and implement CI methodologies, standards, and training programs across the organization.
• Partner with executive leadership to align CI initiatives with strategic business goals.
ERP Implementation Support
• Lead cross-functional process improvement efforts tied to the Microsoft Dynamics ERP rollout.
• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in current workflows impacted by ERP changes.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure ERP processes are lean and scalable.
Operational Excellence
• Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to drive measurable improvements.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to track CI progress and ROI.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on leadership.
Change Management
• Champion change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes.
• Build internal capability by training teams on LEAN tools such as 5S, SMED, TPM, and visual management.
• Lead the Kaizen Promotion Office and mentor CI team members.
Performance Metrics
• Reduction in waste and non-value-added activities.
• ERP process efficiency and user adoption rates.
• CI project ROI and cost savings.
• Employee engagement in CI initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations with a focus on LEAN and CI.
Experience building CI departments from the ground up.
Proven success leading enterprise-wide CI initiatives, including ERP-related process optimization.
Ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation through CI.
Computer Skills: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems.
Communication Skills: Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities): LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
