BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Director of Collections will lead and optimize BluSky's collections efforts. This role is responsible for overseeing the Collections Department, managing the team, and ensuring timely resolution of receivables. This role will drive process improvements, collaborate with legal and corporate leadership, and provide strategic reporting insights. There will be collaboration with Billings team, branch employees, and other key stakeholders.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE:
Responsible for leading company's collections efforts specific to past due accounts receivable pursuant to agreed best practices, specifically related to and arising from the "Collections Department" arm of the Finance Dept.
Drives results to reduce collection time for aged receivables.
Manages Collection Resolution Managers duties and responsibilities.
Manages Collection Specialists duties and responsibilities.
Addresses and resolves issues and approvals needed by Collection Resolution Managers.
Reviews collections requested to move to legal and works with VP of Legal and Compliance to assign.
Communicate with office VP's when required for corporate approvals of payment plans or discounts.
Leads development and implementation of collection process and documentation/letters.
Creates team tracking documentation and dashboards for reporting.
Reports progress on collections to VP of Legal and Compliance (and corporate management as requested).
Other projects and duties as assigned by VP of Legal and Compliance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This role leads the Collections Team.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years' experience in collections, credit management, loss prevention, or accounts receivable.
People management experience, preferred.
Proven track record of executing to plan, improving and maintaining speed and efficiency of collecting past due accounts receivable, reducing aged receivables and improving collection cycles.
Strong understanding of collections laws, regulations, and compliance standards in both commercial and consumer markets.
Experience working with legal departments on escalated collection matters.
Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, etc.).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to develop and implement processes, policies, and documentation.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, preferred depth of experience, and other relevant education also considered.
TRAVEL:
Minimal travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.
