Job Details We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI). This key role will lead clinical documentation initiatives to ensure the highest level of accuracy, compliance, and integrity. The Director of CDI will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the clinical documentation improvement program, with a focus on enhancing the quality and completeness of clinical documentation. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the clinical documentation improvement program, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity. Develop and implement CDI policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Collaborate with clinical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation of all clinical information. Lead and mentor a team of CDI specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of the CDI program and implement improvements. Collaborate with the healthcare team to reflect the severity of illness and risk of mortality in documentation. Serve as a liaison between the clinical and coding teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Implement and manage a comprehensive training program for CDI specialists and other healthcare professionals. Monitor and analyze CDI metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Participate in the development and implementation of strategic CDI initiatives.
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a track record of success in managing CDI programs. Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist. Experience in acute care clinical coding. RN, APRN, PA, MD, DO licensure. Proven leadership skills to lead and mentor a CDI team. Strong knowledge of clinical documentation requirements, coding guidelines, and regulatory standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with a diverse team. Strong analytical skills to analyze data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Experience as a system compliance quality leader. PROSCI Change Management Certificate or equivalent.
