The Director of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) leads the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of the CDI program at Advent Health. This role focuses on enhancing the quality and completeness of clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding, patient safety, measurable outcomes, and proper reimbursement. The director collaborates with senior leaders, campus administration, and physicians, and stays informed on documentation changes related to ICD-10. A commitment to excellent customer service and respectful relationships is essential.
Leading a team of 9 managers over 100 people
Biweekly syncs with team
Managing budget for department
Presenting to C-level on CDI data findings
Standardize CDI practices across the organization using industry best practices.
Develop and maintain policies and guidelines for consistent documentation improvement.
Build strong partnerships with Advent Health Medical Staff.
Lead clinical/product line committees to identify and address documentation improvement opportunities.
Must-Haves:
Bachelors in Nursing
5 years of experience in acute hospital clinical setting
5 years of CDI director or manager in large hospital (must have managed large teams in multiple locations)
Active RN license (must have active by the time they start)
Plusses:
Masters degree in nursing, business or health related field
Certified billing and coding specialist
certified clinical documentation specialist
OB or Pediatric background in CDI
