This role receives operational direction from the Associate Vice President of Clinic Operations and collaborates with Primary Care physician leadership to improve quality, cost and patient service, and the financial and operational performance of the organization. The role ensures positive and productive relationships with internal and external business partners as well as patients and providers. Primary Responsibilities Serve as a Lean Leader to ensure clinic operational efficiency Monitor division performance metrics; develop and implement action plans or corrective actions to address operational issues Lead execution of special projects, task forces, and business improvement initiatives as requested by senior leadership Formulate strategic and operational plans for assigned projects Project management: partner with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish goals and distribute work; ensure stakeholders are informed of progress, deviations from plans, and risks Support objectives, strategic improvements, detailed plans, and KPIs Serve as a leader or contributor to performance improvement initiatives; responsible for successful implementation and achieving required metrics Act as a change champion for organizational initiatives (Operational / Patient Experience) Ensure performance improvement goals are achieved and sustained in processes Oversee day-to-day clinic operations; serve as a subject matter expert for clinic operations Establish partnerships with internal and external stakeholders for successful operations Set, recommend, and achieve project timelines; manage and report on projects supporting larger operational goals Leverage tools and resources to manage multiple projects and meet timelines, KPIs, and outcomes Ensure high-quality patient care and that it meets company standards Support division administrator in developing positive employee/clinician relations Accountable for CAHPS, HEDIS, HOS measures within assigned region Responsible for divisional and market goals and census growth Implement plans and processes to maintain productivity and profitability Identify business trends affecting the market, division, or clinics Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction while achieving financial goals Support patient experience efforts; ensure C-I-CARE initiatives are implemented, adopted, and measured Responsible for CAHPS / HOS / BURKE data evaluation and action plan development Review patient experience initiatives and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement Collaborate with division administrators to improve patient experience Ensure financial success for assigned clinics; utilize financial reporting within each clinic Support annual budget development, volume forecasting, and capital needs Review financial reporting and work with clinic leaders and AVP to improve outcomes Manage revenue cycle for the region/division including denials, eligibility, and co-pays Partner with ancillary departments (billing/coding) to identify improvements Provide leadership for Division Administrator, Operations Managers and/or Supervisors Support division leadership to ensure clinics achieve operational goals Support recruitment, retention, and promotion of outstanding staff Develop and grow leaders within the division; manage turnover Support practice leaders in meeting operational goals Ensure best practices are followed and address incidents of non-compliance Promote and maintain an organizational culture aligned with values Accountable for: performance management, annual reviews, talent acquisition/turnover management, VOICE survey results and action plans Ensure leader/team member rounding is completed monthly and reported Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with practice leaders to stay connected to clinic operations Provide training materials to support practice leader growth Support teams in achieving goals and timelines Support MAP goal development and ensure goals support growth of assigned clinics Develop 90-day plans each quarter to help practice leaders meet goals Collaborate with multiple departments to provide staff with education and resources Ensure 100% compliance with MyLearning and Health and Safety training Participate in physician and APC panel interviews with AVP and appropriate clinician partner Coordinate clinician candidate site tours for clinics in the division Partner with recruitment and clinic leaders for successful onboarding of new clinicians Provide monthly divisional reporting and performance presentations Review and interpret financial dashboards to optimize operations Use monthly reporting to communicate culture, finance, strategic, and quality metrics Develop and monitor action plans for operational areas requiring improvement (CAHPS, Voice Survey, Financial, Access, etc.) Ensure adoption of best-practice workflows and maintain an audit process for sustained compliance Regularly review and report observations and actions to align with best practices Support development of best practices, ongoing training, and value-based care initiatives in assigned clinics
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management or related field; or equivalent experience (10+ years in lieu of degree) 5+ years in medical practice management, health plan operations, or medical management with progressive responsibilities 5+ years of knowledge in capitation, physician recruitment, contracting, quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and compliance issues Knowledge of ICD-10 / CPT / HCPCS and medical terminology Strong financial and accounting concepts Understanding of managed care principles and customer service best practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint) Ability to travel among multiple Primary Care Clinics
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Health Care Management or related field Proven bilingual Spanish/English Analytical skills using SQL Leadership experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (eligibility requirements apply). The salary range for this role is $110,200 to $188,800 annually for full-time employment.
