Director of Clinic Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides leadership and direction for clinic operations across all assigned service lines, including Family Medicine, OBGYN, Chronic Care Center, Orthopedics, Neurology, Specialty Clinic, and Outpatient Mental Health. Develops and implements operational strategies that improve patient access, quality of care, and overall patient experience. Ensures efficient clinic workflows, optimal staffing, and effective resource utilization. Collaborates with medical directors, providers, and department leaders to meet clinical, financial, and operational performance goals. Oversees annual budget development, financial monitoring, and resource planning for all assigned clinics. Leads process improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance productivity. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, standard precautions, and hazardous waste procedures in accordance with organizational policies. Upholds confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information at all times. Complies with the organization's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and all related laws and regulations, and reports any known or suspected violations. Actively participates in personal and professional development opportunities, including attending mandatory meetings, in-services, and training programs. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned, accepting assignments willingly and demonstrating flexibility to support team and organizational needs. Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in accordance with the organizational chart. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performances; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or related field required. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within ambulatory or clinic operations. Experience overseeing multiple specialties and outpatient service lines strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification: None required; RN or relevant clinical licensure preferred. Certification in healthcare leadership or practice management (e.g., CMPE, FACHE) desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage teams, and build collaborative relationships. Knowledge of clinic workflows, reimbursement models, and quality improvement methodologies. Proficiency in data analysis, budget management, and healthcare technology platforms (e.g., EMR/EHR). Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects effectively. Commitment to service excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Language Skills English - Required Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, families, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to effectively present information to physicians, management, public groups, and the board of directors.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment. The position involves walking between clinic departments and meeting locations throughout the facility on a regular basis. Occasional bending, reaching, or lifting of light items (up to 10-15 pounds) may be necessary.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are common. The employee is expected to utilize proper ergonomic practices, including appropriate workstation setup, posture, and scheduled movement breaks to reduce risk of repetitive strain or musculoskeletal discomfort. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for computer use and document review, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position is primarily based in an office environment within a clinical setting. The employee frequently interacts with administrative staff, physicians, clinic leaders, and other departments, and regularly walks between various outpatient clinic areas. While not directly involved in patient care, the employee may occasionally be present in clinical environments and should follow standard safety and infection control practices.
The workspace should be arranged to support ergonomic comfort, including the use of adjustable chairs, monitor height, and keyboard/mouse positioning. The noise level is generally quiet to moderate, with occasional disruptions depending on clinic activity.
