Job Description The Director of Business Travel Sales is responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to maximize transient revenue, profits, and market share. The Director will play a senior role in developing and implementing action plans. Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in line with Fairmont Standards, with scheduling based on hotel needs. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper dress code and name tag. Comply with Fairmont standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations. Participate in discussions and contribute recommendations for room yield strategies; attend rooms merchandising meetings. Meet and exceed transient room revenue targets set by the General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing. Participate actively in business reviews. Collaborate with the Sales team to increase REVPAR market share. Review and share monthly account tracking reports. Communicate new account data to reservations, CRO, and GDS teams. Manage the RFP process for negotiated accounts. Schedule and conduct presentations for large local travel agents and BTC. Organize the annual customer appreciation event. Provide professional and courteous service to all accounts. Create ongoing promotions for the Transient Sales Team. Coordinate CRO and travel agent FAM trips. Participate in trade shows as required by the hotel and corporate office. Develop and train the transient sales manager. Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Revenue Manager on sales strategies and monthly transient forecasts. Qualifications College degree preferred, or 3 years of industry-related experience with at least 1 year in transient sales. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of CRO, GDS, property PMS, and GRC is beneficial. Understanding of pricing, yield policies, sales promotions, and SOPs is preferred. Knowledge of related expenses is advantageous. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
