Position: Director of Business Development
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Development to lead and execute growth initiatives across our geographic and market sectors. This senior leadership role is responsible for managing a high-performing business development team, building client relationships, and aligning firm-wide development efforts with long-term strategy. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, proven team leadership, and a passion for driving growth and visibility in the A/E/C market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the business development team, including internal staff and external partners.
Set and monitor team goals, resolve obstacles, and support development across all regions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, and internal stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new project opportunities across federal, state, and local markets.
Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry organizations (ULI, A4LE, APPA, etc.).
Coordinate proposal development strategies, teaming efforts, and go/no-go decisions.
Guide and support business development in new geographies and across service lines.
Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns, capability briefings, and strategic messaging.
Maintain accurate records in CRM and shared calendars to track client interactions, follow-ups, and opportunities.
Conduct and support strategic planning meetings, annual BD retreats, and interdepartmental collaboration.
Job Requirements: 8+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or client engagement within the A/E/C industry.
Proven success in team leadership and program management.
Strong understanding of municipal, state, and federal procurement.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; CRM experience preferred.
Ability to travel up to 50% for events, client meetings, and regional office visits.
Must be able to lift and transport marketing and tradeshow materials (~30 lbs) and participate in extended event days.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver’s license required.
