Role We are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly networked Business Development Director to lead our prospecting and relationship-building efforts. This is a client-facing role focused on cultivating relationships in HNW and UHNW circles through events, referrals, partnerships, and in-person networking. You will be the face of the firm in the community—proactively identifying opportunities to connect with qualified prospects, centers of influence, and strategic partners. You will also coach and support a junior team focused on outbound outreach, helping to shape a scalable growth engine. This is an ideal role for someone with deep relationship-building skills, excellent executive presence, and a passion for helping successful individuals find the right financial partner. Responsibilities Strategic Networking & Relationship Development Serve as a primary business development presence at HNW and UHNW events, conferences, industry gatherings, philanthropic circles, and professional communities Build and manage a growing network of centers of influence (COIs) including attorneys, accountants, and estate planners Represent the firm with sophistication and authenticity, articulating our unique value proposition to individuals and referral partners Identify and nurture relationships with qualified prospective clients, with the goal of scheduling warm introductions and follow-up meetings with the firm’s advisors Team Leadership Hire, guide and mentor a team of junior Business Development Associates focused on proactive outbound outreach, lead generation, and CRM management. Collaborate with firm leadership and the marketing and BD team to refine prospect qualification, lead handoff processes, and event strategies Help shape and execute a referral pipeline that blends proactive outbound efforts with organic community engagement. Business Development Conduct personalized outreach and follow-up to high-value prospects Plan and host compelling events to provide value and drive meaningful connections among HNW and UHNW individuals and COIs Provide workflow ideas for firm’s CRM and sales enablement tools to improve efficiency, follow-up and scalability Cross-Collaboration Partner with advisors to hand off qualified leads and ensure a seamless prospect experience Regularly provide feedback from prospects to marketing and BD team to help shape messaging, content strategy, and outbound efforts Requirements 5+ years of experience in business development, private client services, financial services, or high-touch relationship sales Strong existing network or proven experience building trust within HNW and professional communities Executive presence and comfort engaging with business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals. Self-starter who thrives in in-person environments and can confidently represent the firm in a wide range of professional settings. Experience with Salentica or other CRM tools and discipline around tracking engagement activity Experience leading and coaching a team strongly preferred Interest in or familiarity with financial planning and wealth management; formal advisory credentials a plus but not required. *The recognition was issued October 8, 2024 and applies October 2024 through October 2025.
