About this position: LMCU is looking for a Director of Business Development Relationships who will be responsible for developing, planning and coordinating outreach in the consumer and business community that supports LMCU's strategic growth initiatives and aligns with our enterprise goals, focusing on the East Michigan market. This role manages business relationships and programs with external contacts to provide outstanding service to our business partners, their employees and community organizations. This role will collaborate with LMCU business lines to implement, promote and execute their market growth strategy to increase members, deposits and lending. What you’ll do: Champion the MaxAdvantage program for respected market(s).
Research and identify target opportunities.
Schedule and attend an average of 6 Sales Calls per week.
Coordinate and facilitate 2 Business Development in-person events per month.
Actively manage priority relationships through continuous and timely follow up.
Review program analytics for continuous improvement and growth.
Champion Growth initiatives in respected market(s).
Partner with internal lines of business to implement and promote their Growth Strategy.
Support LMCU enterprise goals to increase members, deposits and lending.
Review growth analytics for continuous improvement and alignment with LMCU goals.
Stay current and up to date on financial products, policies and procedures. Perform best practice research to identify and apply Business Development practices that support LMCU strategic goals.
Research competitors to remain current on market trends. Review and implement opportunity for LMCU growth strategy enhancements.
What You’ll Bring: You’ll like this position if you have... Five years to eight years of experience in business development, community outreach, or relationship management within a financial institution, preferred.
Direct experience working in or partnering with credit unions, focusing on member acquisition, retention, and expansion of products and services.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field of study.
Proficiency in credit union core systems and CRM platforms (e.g., Symitar, Salesforce, etc).
Experience leveraging data analytics tools to drive decisions and track performance.
Experience managing pipelines, setting sales targets, and achieving measurable growth.
Demonstrated success building partnerships with local businesses, Select Employer Groups (SEGs), and community organizations to drive membership growth.
Experience leading financial education initiatives or community-focused programs to increase member loyalty and trust.
Safely operate a vehicle in all types of weather conditions; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
