Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Brand Strategy to lead and unify our brand vision across all touchpoints—driving clarity, consistency, and long-term strength. This is a senior leadership position that oversees our e-commerce business and marketing strategy and plays a key role in guiding the strategic direction of the company’s brand initiatives across all touchpoints. This role will report to the President, Creative and contribute meaningfully to company-wide planning, storytelling, and market positioning.

Position Responsibilities
Brand Leadership & Strategic Vision
Lead the development and execution of long-term brand strategy that reflects the company’s vision, values, and voice Serve as the connective tissue across departments, ensuring all brand, marketing, e-commerce, and customer-facing initiatives are aligned and cohesive Own and drive the company’s brand calendar in collaboration with product, creative, and marketing teams Develop frameworks for measuring brand equity, perception, and impact across key channels
E-Commerce Oversight
Oversee the strategy and performance of the e-commerce business, including revenue targets, product storytelling, and customer experience Partner with cross-functional teams (product, UX, tech, fulfillment) to ensure a seamless and brand-consistent digital experience Optimize online merchandising, conversion, and content to align with brand goals and product campaigns Guide the integration of brand and commerce in a way that elevates both
Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership
Act as a strategic partner to Creative, Product, and Sales teams, ensuring all efforts ladder up to a unified brand vision Contribute to annual and long-term company planning, identifying brand-led creative opportunities and ensuring resourcing matches ambition Develop strategy, performance, and roadmap alongside stakeholders, with clarity and insight Mentor and lead direct reports (including e-commerce and marketing leads), setting goals, driving accountability, and fostering growth
Budget & Performance Ownership
Own and manage the marketing and e-commerce budgets, ensuring smart allocation of resources toward high-impact initiatives Monitor and report on key KPIs, using data to inform decisions and evolve strategy
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, or creative leadership roles—ideally in a retail, consumer goods, or design-forward environment Proven track record of building and scaling brand systems across multiple channels (retail, digital, experiential, etc.) Strong understanding of e-commerce operations, digital marketing, and the intersection of brand and business High-level thinker with meticulous attention to detail and a deep sense of storytelling, aesthetics, and brand integrity Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels—vision-setting one moment, solving details the next Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills Creative, resourceful, and energized by building something meaningful
Nice to Have
Experience in design, interiors, lifestyle, or luxury consumer brands Background in or familiarity with DTC and wholesale models Prior responsibility for P&L or high-level budget management
Work Environment, Hours, & Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work for large all-hands-on deck events. While we embrace a hybrid work model, in-person collaboration is a valued part of our culture. This role has flexibility to work hybrid from our San Francisco office. Up to three remote workdays per week are available. The salary range for this position is $155,000 – $165,000, based on experience.
