Director of Banquet Operations
This role involves overseeing and elevating banquet services by providing leadership, training, and support to the banquet team. Responsibilities include ensuring seamless execution of events and an outstanding guest experience in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide leadership, training, support, and actively manage all levels of the banquet staff
- Trains, evaluates, and schedules Banquet team members in accordance with the standards of the company policies and guidelines
- The ability to hire, train, motivate, discipline, direct, and supervise the work of the team members in the Banquet Department
- Participate with the annual financial and maintenance and capex budgeting process
- Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of banquet equipment through supervision of service personnel
- Ensures daily housekeeping program to include storage and operational areas and team members appearance
- Ensures that payroll and gratuity reports are prepared accurately
- Attend and participate in all required meetings
- Communicate with the group hosts and even organizers to review event details of the functions
- Organize and orchestrate any last-minute changes or details to functions
- Ensures the set-up and service of contracted functions meet guest's expectations
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a similar position
- Banquet experience, specifically with social weddings, trade shows and business events
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including effective verbal and written communication
- Experience with Delphi or similar banquet programs
- Ability to lead, train, and inspire a team
- Skilled in handling multiple tasks, addressing guest requests, and ensuring top-tier service standards
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting
- Regular bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds frequently
Required Licenses & Certifications:
PA Non-Gaming License
