CSU Salary Schedule
CSUMB provides pay scales representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, and CSU systemwide pay for comparable jobs.

Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Vice President, University Advancement, the Director of Alumni Relations leads and directs all engagement with CSUMB alumni. This includes developing a comprehensive annual plan, coordinating with college and unit partners, executing special events, coordinating communications, and leading the Alumni Advisory Board.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Alumni Relations
Develop and manage a comprehensive Alumni Relations annual plan.
Hire, train and supervise the Alumni Relations Specialist and student assistants.
Develop and execute alumni relations outreach including newsletters, e-contacts, social media, networking events and reunions (including RAFT Weekend).
Recruit, manage, direct and inspire the Alumni Advisory Board.
Serve as the CSUMB campus representative on the CSU Alumni Council.
Work with vendors, affinity partners and University partners to engage and improve programs and alumni engagement.
Capture strategic interactions with alumni in the donor database.
Communications
With Communications, oversee content, layout and distribution of alumni e-newsletters, invitations, and event flyers. Analyze tracking data such as open rates and click-through.
Maintain the CSUMB alumni website.
Miscellaneous
May coordinate hiring, training and scheduling of student assistants and monitor work assignments.
Other Functions
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of alumni relations practices; budget policies and procedures. Ability to apply research and statistical analysis concepts and develop a campus-wide alumni relations program. Proficient in creating, executing and overseeing a comprehensive program.
Required Skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, be detail-oriented, organized, proactive and capable of handling multi-phase projects. Experience in event planning and execution. Ability to learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedures; analyze data and make projections; manage projects from inception to completion; establish effective working relationships; and use PC software (Word, Excel, databases) and Google tools.
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent training and professional experience in alumni relations, events, and communications. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the job responsibilities. Two years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with three to five years of experience in higher education (or a similarly complex organization) in alumni relations, event planning and communications. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar software; PeopleSoft or Oracle; Microsoft Office and Google platforms. Understanding of CSUMB’s Vision is highly desirable.

Physical Environment
Office environment with standard equipment. May require travel between campus offices and off-campus locations. Health and safety guidelines must be followed on campus.
