Position Summary As a key member of Loyola Academy’s Advancement team, the Director of Alumni Relations plays a pivotal role in building lifelong connections between Loyola and its vibrant alumni community. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position leads the charge in designing and executing a strategic annual plan that strengthens alumni engagement and drives philanthropic support.

The Director will energize and grow a passionate alumni network by developing innovative programs, events, and outreach efforts that foster meaningful relationships and deepen ties to the Loyola mission. With a keen focus on measurable impact, the Director will turn alumni engagement into action by boosting participation in Annual Giving and unlocking broader support for the Academy’s future.

Key Responsibilities Strategy and Planning
Plan, oversee, and evaluate a comprehensive outreach program to generations of alumni
Develop and execute alumni relations programming calendar, utilizing maintenance resources and support services from the Assistant Director of Advancement Communications and Communications team
Design, plan, and execute regional and local reunions, the annual Alumni Golf outing, and other alumni events
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Fundraising and Relationship Management
Actively collaborate with the Advancement Department in alumni fundraising and support
Build, Cultivate and Steward revenue producing alumni affinity groups (LA Bar, LA Business Association, PLC, and Hall of Fame)
Be a conduit in supporting alumni connections with students, graduate parents and the larger Loyola Academy community
Partner with the communications department to utilize social media platforms to share stories, highlight events, or provide details of alumni news events
Define strategies and programming in order to meet and exceed annual revenue goals for alumni relations.
Data and Analytics
Utilize follow up surveys and data analysis as a form of constant evaluation and program creation
Maintain detailed records of alumni outreach and activity in Raiser’s Edge
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects
Demonstrated ability to engage others in difficult conversations and manage conflict
Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the institution, act ethically and with integrity, adhere to the administrative and operational policies of Loyola Academy and perform the duties of your position consistent with those policies and the institution’s expectations
Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed
Strong alignment and commitment to the mission and values of Loyola Academy
Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, fundraising, or communications preferred
Proficiency in donor management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge, and Google Suite
Reports to: Director of Annual Giving
Salary Range: $60,000 - $78,000
