Emmanuel College, a Catholic liberal arts institution, invites applications for the role of Director of Advancement Operations to join the dynamic College Advancement team. The Director will be a key member of the Advancement leadership team, entrusted with the oversight and strategic management of the College's Advancement data. This individual will provide visionary leadership for data integrity, gift processing, prospect research, and reporting, while ensuring the efficient and effective use of the College's Advancement systems.
As an essential member of the College Advancement team, the Director will work collaboratively with other departments, playing a critical role in shaping data-driven strategies that support the institution's fundraising and outreach goals. This position also serves as the representative of the Advancement team on various data-centric committees and working groups, ensuring that data and technology considerations are consistently integrated into the College's strategic initiatives.
Essential Job Duties:
Lead the management and strategic use of the College Advancement database (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge), ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and security.
Provide oversight and mentorship to the Advancement Services team, including Development Associates, Researchers, and Gift Processors, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
Serve as a key liaison with the IT department to ensure the effective integration of College Advancement processes and data systems.
Collaborate with the Registrars' Department to manage the timely and accurate import of student, parent, and alumni data on a regular basis.
Identify and address data issues and programming needs, prioritizing Advancement-related requirements alongside the College's broader IT priorities.
Lead the generation of complex donor lists, gift reports, and labels for the College Advancement staff, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain a suite of recurring and on-demand reports, including live dashboards, to support College Advancement leadership, the President's Office, Trustee committees, and Capital Campaign leadership.
Provide strategic guidance and leadership in the ongoing enhancement of College Advancement systems and data tools.
Represent the Advancement team on various data-centric committees, ensuring that the team's needs and perspectives are effectively communicated and integrated into broader institutional decision-making.
Ensure continuous professional development and training for Advancement Services staff, building expertise in data management, reporting, and system utilization.
Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and data security, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
This position will follow a hybrid work schedule
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of experience in a nonprofit or higher education development environment, preferably in a data or systems-focused role. A demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting is essential.
Expert proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, with a strong understanding of relational database architecture. Familiarity with the entire Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel, is required.
Experience with Omatic suite, ResearchPoint, and iWave is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of fundraising policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Ability to generate high-quality, accurate reports and data insights in a timely manner.
Exceptional organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities.
In-depth knowledge of gift reporting standards and compliance requirements, including IRS regulations and CASE best practices.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
